Kerry is the founder of Grosvenor DCR, a business consultancy that specialises in supporting small businesses to overcome difficulties, optimise performance and achieve growth, and Horizon Business Shield, a specialist advisory service dedicated to helping directors navigate crisis, turnaround and funding challenges with clarity and confidence.

 

More than twenty years ago, Kerry experienced the collapse of a company firsthand. That hard-earned lesson: what it feels like to shoulder responsibility, make impossible decisions under pressure and face into uncertainty for him and him family. It was a difficult time, but that shaped Kerry and made him stronger and allowed him to help others: no director should have to go through that experience without calm, expert and non-judgmental support at their side.

 

Since founding both companies Kerry and his team have guided boards, owner-managers and leadership teams in a range of different sized business through high-stakes situations across a variety of industries.  Whether it’s a liquidity crunch, creditor pressure, stalled growth or a full strategic reset, Kerry and his partners offer a steady hand, clear thinking and practical action.

 

Kerry’s approach is hands-on, discreet, and outcome led, working alongside directors and finance teams to:

James is a director of Horizon Business Shield. He is a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader with a career spanning property development, marketing and media.

 

James’ career started in the promotions industry, working on high-profile campaigns with global brands including Nestlé, Disney and major record labels, before moving into senior roles in large-scale residential development.

 

James has experienced the delights of founding, growing and selling a business, as well as later going on to face the horror of being an owner and MD of a company that entered insolvency.

 

Having experienced the challenges of corporate insolvency first-hand, James brings both commercial acumen and genuine empathy to his work with clients. At Horizon Business Shield, James focuses on building strong relationships with business owners and supporting directors who find themselves under financial pressure, helping them to navigate complex issues and protect their businesses with confidence.

• Helping to stabilise an eight-figure automotive company on the brink of insolvency and turning the business around to achieve a successful corporate sale for the directors in 7 months

• Successfully negotiating a revised loan structure with major challenger banks, to avoid the appointment of receivers, allowing the directors of a property development business to continue with construction followed by an eventual successful exit

• Saving two construction sites from administration by agreeing a revised construction contract with the funders

• Assisting a range of companies in negotiating revised terms with incumbent lenders, that led to re-kickstarting a number of projects
